In addition to the above disease mosquito and other insect bites can lead to allergic reactions and general discomfort and itching. Therefore a large market has developed for bug repellants. In general, only female mosquitoes require human blood for the development of their eggs. They use visual, thermal, and olfactory guidance to find humans and other mammals. However it is believed that odor is the most important attractant. The standard therapy developed by the Army in the 1946 is DEET however many natural options have been studied as well. |
