Traditional Chinese medicine has recommended the consumption
of green tea for headaches, body aches and pains, digestion, depression, immune
enhancement, detoxification, as an energizer, and to prolong life. Other
traditional uses for green tea include both oral and topical routes.
Scientific research now exists to evaluate several of the oral uses.

- Weight loss
- Reduced risk of colon cancer
- Reduced risk of prostate cancer
- Protection against heart disease
- Prevention of dental cavities

- Relieving tired eyes
- Stopping the bleeding of tooth sockets
Although the FDA have not validated any claims that green tea reduces the
risk of cancer or cardiovascular disease, it has recently approved a
green tea-based ointment to treat genital warts (Veregen). |
