Adverse Effects of long-term hGH therapy:

The long-term effects of growth hormone therapy in the elderly are currently unknown due to lack of scientific research.

Some studies have shown a correlation between elevated IGF-1 levels and prostate cancer in men.

Risk of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD)?

A recent article in the Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery and Psychiatry warns that people treated with  hGH could be at risk of developing the fatal neurodegenerative disease CJD. This warning however only applies to people who were treated with the natural form of hGH and is not a potential side effect of synthetic hGH therapy.
