Oral Galvanism

Ted Wissink - March 2009

What is Oral Galvanism?

According to alternative medicine practitioners, oral galvanism occurs when dental fillings (composed of mercury, silver, tin, copper and other metals) react with other fillings in the mouth (which are composed of different compositions of these same metals) and with the saliva to create a "battery effect" in the mouth.

What are the symptoms of Oral Galvanism?

Symptoms can include all of the following to various degrees: oral pain, tinnitus/hearing loss, memory impairment, insomnia, vertigo, epilepsy, psychological impairment and visual impairment. The type of symptoms are purported to be attributable to the type of current (positive or negative) that is generated by the "battery effect" of oral galvanism.

How is Oral Galvanism detected?

Biomeridian testing is believed to be interfered with by oral galvanism and therefore patients with "galvanic" results upon biomeridian testing are believed to have this condition.

Is there treatment for Oral Galvanism?

Patients with suspected oral galvanism are typically referred to "biological dentists", who through a special process known as "Rita Testing" and a "Rita Meter" can determine which restorations are causing the problem and which need to be removed in order to effectively "demagnetize" the oral cavity. The "Rita Meter" tells the dentists in which order to remove the restorations as well.
