What is Oscillococcinum?

Oscillococcinum (also known as "oscillo", Anas Barbariae, Avian Heart and Liver, Avian Liver Extract, Canard de Barbarie, Duck Liver Extract, Muscovy Duck) is a homeopathic treatment used for the "prevention and treatment of flu and flu-like symptoms."  Oscillococcinum is one of the best selling over-the-counter medications in France, where it has been used since the 1920s, and has been gaining popularity in the United States over the past few decades.

How is it made?

"Oscillo" is made like other homeopathic medications, with the belief that "like treats like".  It is made from ground up liver and heart tissue from the Muscovy duck that is subsequently diluted down to infinitely low concentrations.  See "How it Works" section for more information.
