What if vaccinations are too expensive?

There is a federal program to provide low cost vaccines to eligible children.  The government contracts with drug manufacturers to buy vaccinations at a reduced rate.  The government then provides these vaccinations free of charge to eligible providers.  The provider may charge a small fee for dispensing the vaccine but can not charge for the vaccine itself.  The government limits how much a provider may charge the patient for providing these immunizations.  This service is available for families without insurance, Medicaid eligible families, Native American and Alaskan Natives, and families who have insurance that does not cover vaccinations.  The CDC web site has more information about the Vaccines For Children program.
