- As of now, the studies show that vitamin E should not be used on surgical wounds. There is a need for more controlled trials to study its role in wound healing and scar formation, especially in children. - Vitamin E has been shown to slow the progression of ataxia in patients with Friedreich's ataxia when used in combination with coenzyme Q10. There was no difference between high-dose and low-dose therapy. Further studies are necessary to better demonstrate the therapeutic neurological effects of vitamin E. - Many studies still conflict as to the effects of vitamin E use, especially as concerned with coronary artery disease. - More men need to be studied as most of the studies focused on women.
