 - There are different forms of vitamin E supplements out on the market today. 

 - Synthetic vitamin E is not as active as natural vitamin E.  Many medical specialists consider synthetic vitamin E not to be helpful for cancer prevention and coronary artery disease.  Further studies are pending.

 - Semisynthetic Natural Source Vitamin E are easily de-esterified in healthy patients in the liver but not by ill patients or premature babies.  Sometimes this form of vitamin E is used in cosmetic industries.

 - Mixed tocopherol supplements includes the useful alpha-tocopherol form but also the beta, gamma and delta forms.
