This website will focus on a variety of alternative and complementary
therapies for asthma. It is not intended to be an exhaustive database,
rather a general overview of asthma and several of its most common therapies,
both conventional and alternative.Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) can be defined as those medical
systems, professions, practices, interventions, modalities, therapies,
applications, theories, or claims that are currently not part of the dominant
(conventional) medical system. Over time, a specific alternative practice
or therapy may be reclassified as conventional medicine with the emergence of
supporting scientific data, clinical experience with its use, and a change in
prevailing social attitudes.
