HYPERCOLOSTRUM
Hypercolostrum is the term for colostrum which results from the following
process:
A cow is vaccinated against a infectious organism
which normally affects humans. An example of such an organism is
cryptosporidium, which causes diarrhea in individuals with HIV/AIDS.
After getting the vaccine, the cow's body naturally responds by making
antibodies against this organism. Then, when she gives birth, and
makes colostrum, some of the antibodies in the colostrum are pre-made for
attacking the organism you vaccinated the cow against.
The theory is that by ingesting this hypercolostrum,
people infected with the targeted organism can use the cow's antibodies to
fight off this pathogen. It is important to note, that gastrointestinal
pathogens are the likely targets for this type of treatment. This is
because...
1) Orally ingesting colostrum means that the antibodies are
introduced into the gastrointestinal system, and will be in the highest
concentrations there
2) Most of the antibodies will not make it into the
blood stream to affect other organ systems.
