Parkinson’s Disease

One randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, multi-center study of 80 patients documented a 44% less functional decline in patients receiving 1,200 mg per day.  A similar, but smaller study of 28 patients also demonstrated symptom improvement with a substantially lower dose (360 mg daily).

Migraine

A randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial of 42 patients taking 300 mg recorded a 47.6% reduction in migraines compared to the 14.4% reduction in the control group over a 4 month period.  NNT = 3.
