The common cold: Every year, it strikes more than a billion times in the United States alone.  The average adult will have to endure the misery of a sore throat, fever, runny nose, stuffy head, cough and achiness 2-4 times per year.  There is no cure.

Many people turn to Echinacea to find relief, hoping to decrease both the duration and severity of symptoms associated with the common cold.  In fact, in 2004, Americans spent over 150 million dollars on this herb!
