Welcome to the Fibromyalgia Tutorial at Creighton
University School of Medicine.
Purpose
The purpose of this page is to provide a critical
evaluation of Fibromyalgia for health care professionals, students and
the general public.
What is Fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a rheumatic condition of widespread
pain in fibrous tissues, muscles, tendons, and other connective tissues.
In addition to widespread pain, many people also experience fatigue,
sleep disturbances, and anxiety or depression.
The etiology of fibromyalgia is unknown which makes accurate
diagnosis elusive and effective treatment difficult.
