There are many proposed uses for Kava:

- Sedation
- Muscle relaxation
- Seizure control
- Stroke treatment
- Asthma
- Pain treatment
- Depression treatment
None of these uses has been tested extensively and the use of
kava for the treatment of any medical condition has not been approved by the
Food and Drug Administration.
