INTRODUCTION

Prevention of Prostate Cancer

  • Lycopene has gained considerable fame in recent years as a potential weapon in the ever increasing arsenal against cancers of various types.  Most striking have been the reports published which associate diets high in lycopene with a decreased risk of prostate cancer.  Although there have not been any double blind clinical studies or trials of lycopene supplementation published, the growing evidence of lycopene's potential role in the prevention and possible treatment of prostate cancer is promising.
