Welcome to the magnetic therapy tutorial at Creighton University alternative medicine web site!

Magnets are big business, with $5 billion world-wide profits. Magnet manufacturers make claims that their products are effective in treating pain, injury, and a variety of other diseases.  Do they really work? The purpose of this web site is to take a scientific look at the use of magnets for the treatment of pain.

Updated as of February 6, 2005, this website will continue to look at the use of magnets for the treatment of pain.  However, in an effort to continue towards creating an all encompassing resource on new uses for magnetic therapy for both the general public as well as health care professionals this website will now also look at magnet therapy for treatment resistant depression.
