The purpose of this web page will focus on massage therapy and its application with preterm newborns.

This site will give an overview of massage therapy and additionally focus on recent studies that look at massage therapy and preterm newborns.  These studies suggest a possible benefit from massage therapy for preterm newborns with respect to greater weight gain and development.  These studies also point to the possibility of shorter stays in the transitional care nursery for newborns that received massage therapy.
