AKA: Scilla, Sea Onion

Species: Urginea maritima

Active Chemical Components: cardioactive glycosides, flavenoids

Traditionally Used:  Squill has been traditionally used as a cardiotonic and to treat heart failure, arrhythmias, and various other cardiac disorders.

Used Today:  Squill is still used for its cardiac effects to treat congestive heart failure and arrhythmias.  It is also used to treat peripheral vascular disease.

What you should know:  Squill is considered an abortifacient and may lead to SAB if used during pregnancy.  Its use is not recommended.
