History of Wheatgrass

  • 1900's: Edmund Bordeaux Szekely discovered an ancient biblical manuscript describing three main nutrition ideals. First, Don't kill your food by cooking it. Secondly, all grasses are good for man. Thirdly, Wheatgrass is the perfect food for man.
  • 1913: Dr. Willstatter determined that hemoglobin and chlorophyll closely resemble one another.

  • 1940's: Charles Kettering  M.D. discovered that chlorophyll was a great healer.
  • 1940's: Ann Wigmore began a study of natural healing modalities. She concluded that there are 4700 varieties of grass worldwide and all are good for man. She concluded that wheatgrass to be "The Medicinal Grass".
  • 1982: Massachusetts attorney general sues Wigmore on the claim that wheatgrass could decrease insulin need in diabetics. She retracts claim.
  • 1988: Massachusetts attorney general sues Wigmore again and makes her stop representing herself as a physician or person who treats disease after she claims an "enzyme soup" can cure HIV.
  • 1993: Wigmore dies leaving her Creative Health Institute active.
  • Now in the 21st century we are continuing to discover the benefits of wheatgrass.
